Housing, Process, Movement

Hunt’s first work on the prison system, “Housing, Process, Movement” is a 3-part video installation built from appropriated photographs, archival film and news footage used to promote prison architecture, prison corporations and processes of criminalization by the state. Manipulated and recombined into loops, repetitions and impossible camera pans, its parts suggest a perpetual production of subjects and contradictory systems that anticipated Hunt’s first feature documentary on the system, Corrections (2001).
