Thunderstorm on a Clear Bright Day
An essay film based upon interviews and site visits to a decommissioned prison in Sinop, Turkey, taking up histories of imprisonment practices there, from its uses to target student activists during the 1980 military coup d’etat to the increasing imprisonment of women today. This piece was made to accompany a site-specific installation for I have a Dream of a Different Army, for Sinopale 4, the fourth biennale of Sinop, 2012.
